Letter From The Principal

SeniorsI welcome you to the Faith Community Christian High School website and invite you to take a few minutes to get to know us better. In some ways, our name says it all. We are a high school (grades 9-12) born out of the faith of a group of parents in the South County area who were committed to providing a strong, Christian education for their sons and daughters. After much prayer and discussion, this group of parents took their first step of faith in May, 2007 by deciding to found the school. Since that time we have seen our faith tested and our God provide in many miraculous ways. We are now a community of believers with a common goal to educate young men and women from a Biblical world view and a common vision to create "a place where you can belong".

We believe that Christian education is transformational education designed to reach both the mind and the heart of each student. We aren’t just supposed to point students to God, but to wholeness, to fulfillment, to their identity in Christ. Christian education is about helping students to begin to understand the Big Picture, the universe as a function of God's eternal purpose and plan and their place in it. It is not primarily about what students do, but who they are, and it has the power to change lives both now and for eternity. We work in partnership with the home and the church in fulfilling the Biblical admonition to "Train up a child in the way he (or she) should go."

Our curriculum is designed to maximize the students' understanding of that "Big Picture". In other words, we have not just created individual classes that we think are academically sound, but we have put those classes together in a framework to maximize their effectiveness, to create a synergy. We do not want our students to compartmentalize the information and skills they acquire, but to learn to integrate them.

Our dedicated teachers and staff are the backbone of our school. They provide not just academic expertise but also godly examples to our students. It is their task to bring the curriculum to life in the classroom, to take the words and symbols off the page and translate them into concepts and ideas in the minds of our students.

After you have toured the website, if we can be of further assistance please don’t hesitate to contact the school office by email or phone to ask questions or to schedule a campus visit.

In Christ,

Allene R. Vinzant
Principal
