Allene Vinzant
Introduction to Composition, American Literature, Contemporary Literary Perspectives
Ms. Vinzant comes from a long line of educators, teachers, principals, and professors. She graduated summa cum laude in 1993 from Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts in English/Secondary Education. Allene is currently working on a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction at Columbia International University.
She was named "Teacher of the Year" at Hillcrest Christian School in Jackson, Mississippi in 1999. Ms. Vinzant taught English and Latin at Life Christian High School for the last six years where she was honored as "Master Teacher" in 2004 and awarded "Teacher of the Year" in 2005. Also, during the 2006-2007 school year, she designed and implemented a mentoring program to train and support new teachers. Allene’s experience, teaching, and innovative educational strategies make her the perfect choice for our principal at FCCHS.
Noah Thomas
Ancient World Literature, Modern World Literature
Noah Thomas is a native of the St. Louis area. He pursued his love of literature at Calvin College in Michigan earning a B.A. in Theater and honed his Biblical knowledge at Covenant Seminary here in St. Louis earning an M.A in Theological Studies. As a playwright, five of his short plays have been produced on stage, and he continues to write for the theatre. He works professionally in technical theatre from time to time and is the Theatre Coordinator for The Chapel, a non-profit arts venue. Noah attends Memorial Presbyterian Church, where he has been a member for 20 years. He loves cooking, making music and roasting his own coffee. Mr. Thomas is answering God's call on his life to help young people understand the world from a Biblical point of view.
